Synopsis

Makoto Konno finds herself running late for school on 7/13. Her entire day seems to be one bad incident after another: -she fails a surprise test. -singes her hair from cooking class accident. -ends up being knocked over by two guys horsing around.

After being on clean-up detail in class and assigned to return text manuals, she makes her way through a science lab. Noting a strange object on the floor, she is momentarily surprised when someone enters the room, causing her to fall on the object. As she does, a series of strange images fly past her, before she eventually falls to the ground. She attempts to find out who was in the room with her, but the person is long gone.

After school, Makoto goes to see her Aunt at an art museum. However, the brakes on her bike give out, and she ends up hitting a guard-rail, flying into the path of an passing train.

However, instead of dying, Makoto finds herself several yards away from the guard rail, and watches as the train goes by. Makoto eventually makes it to her Aunt's workplace, and explains the strange incident. Her Aunt calmly explains that Makoto experienced a 'Time Leap,' which allowed Makoto to leap back in time several seconds before the accident that would have killed her.

Makoto finds it hard to believe, and spends the rest of the evening pondering this. Leaving the house, she attempts to leap off the edge of a shallow riverbed...and finds herself having gone back a full day (to the date 7/12). Makoto then stays with the timeline, and lives out day 7/13 again...only this time, making it a perfect day. She arrives early to school, aces her surprise test (finishing quicker than everyone else), and has a classmate named Takase take her place at one of the cooking class stations. This causes him to reap the misfortune that she had previously, and makes him a target by some other guys in class (unknown to Makoto at the time).

Makoto also uses her powers for more personal reasons, such as turning one hour into ten during a karaoke session, and leaping back to have her favorite meal. At one point, her friend Chiaki attempts to ask her if they should be a couple, and Makoto time leaps to avoid the situation. This eventually leads to Chiaki instead taking an interest in another classmate named Yuri.

Makoto relays this information to her Aunt, but her Aunt cautions her to be careful with her powers. Makoto soon finds that her actions definitely have an effect on others. Takase has been bullied ever since the cooking class misfortune, and at one point in anger, he tosses a fire extinguisher that injures one of Makoto's classmates. Makoto also notes a strange numbered tattoo on her arm.

following the independence day ceremony earlier today at school.

all the participants both teachers and students were expected to give their full attention to remember the countless heroes sacrificing their lives and everything to gain the country independence 65 years ago.

for every second counts, every single move is special. 

full attention means silent. focus on what was going during the ceremony.

no talking to friend, no comment to any mistake made.

the students, especially, were first warned about the importance of being silent. 

but what was missing was the full attention from the teachers.

some of my fellow teachers, though not all of them had failed to give their full attention and made the warning given to the students just empty words.

just like humming birds*, they kept talking to each other. commenting on every single thing happened, grunting and grumbling on every mistake made.

what an example!!!!

silence means silence dear teachers.

if you asked your students to remain silent, you should forced yourselves to keep silent as well.

you do not comment on your students mistakes, you fix them.

you do not wait for them to consult you, you come and give them advise.

you do not warn the students, you give them example.

your words mean nothing. 

it's what you do that means everything.

ohhh...teachers....
